CentraLine announced the launch of its ENERGY VISION NX software for the Niagara eXtended (NX) platform. ENERGY VISION NX, from Honeywell’s CentraLine brand, incorporates a set of outstanding features for monitoring and analysing the energy efficiency of buildings and installations:

· Offers complete transparency and traceability of energy consumption across different applications

· Allows setting up an Energy Management System according to DIN EN ISO 50001 requirements

· Provides scalability, from the smallest up to the largest installations, starting with the simplest set-up on controller level up to large distributed systems at building supervisor level.

This intuitive tool for energy benchmarking and analysis is now completely integrated in the latest Niagara eXtended (NX) building management platform.

“Facility managers want accurate information about their building’s energy performance – anywhere, on any tool, from a PC to tablet to smartphone”, says Michael Rader, CentraLine business leader. The ENERGY VISION NX version is based on HTML 5 technology and applies latest cyber security standards. It automatically collects and analyses all forms of energy consumption in a facility, and provides data in visually appealing graphics and diagrams, making it easier for building managers to:

· Easily recognize energy-saving opportunities

· Identify measures to avoid waste of energy and optimize usage

· Employ benchmarks to better compare energy performance of buildings and estates

· Raise awareness regarding the facility’s energy efficiency by using energy dashboards.

Easy-to-understand diagrams visualizing benchmarking and ranking of energy consumption between meters, zones, systems, buildings, and sites help the user to focus on the biggest consumers and to begin energy-efficiency measures where they will yield the greatest benefit.

CentraLine, Honeywell's partner brand, stands for integrated building management, represented by over 600 partners in the EMEA region. CentraLine's partner PGA Gesellschaft für Prozess- und Gebäudeautomatisierungstechnik mbH (process and building automation technology), based in Sinsheim/Germany, realized the building management and room control system for 130 hotel rooms in the 5-star Roomers hotel, located in Baden-Baden.

The hotel – Italian interior design of high calibre
The Roomers Hotel is located in Baden-Baden near the Festival Hall. The hotel has over 130 rooms and suites that shine with subtle elegance. Instead of the standard reception desk, guests can check themselves in and out of the hotel at tables found in the hotel lobby. The interior architectural concept was developed by the renowned Italian designer Piero Lissoni (Lissoni Associati).

Room management
All 130 rooms and suites of the design hotel include integrated room management, which interacts intelligently and uniformly with all building technologies and among each other. "The guest has access to all applications in his room immediately after checking in," explains PGA CEO Ralf Rostock. The interaction and communication between the room and building management system as well as the hotel booking system OPERA make sure the guest is greeted with a welcoming scene made up of a pre-set atmosphere created by lighting, sound volume, air conditioning, and open sun shades. If the guest checks out, the room is automatically reset to an energy efficient "unbooked" status.

Building management
The client-implemented system OPERA, as well as Suite8 by Oracle/MICROS-Fidelio, both have a BMS interface, a so-called Oracle Hospitality Suite8 BMS Interface. The CentraLine partner PGA implemented the building and room management interface with the CentraLine AX system as well as the Fidelio driver. The communication with the primary controls for heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as fire dampers, was realised withBACnet/IP.

"The CentraLine building management system we implemented seamlessly integrates the application through the Fidelio driver," says Rostock. "The installed 25 EAGLE BACnet controllers communicate with both the supervisor and third party systems. Together, they execute complex automation tasks among each other." Included are features such as dew point calculation, changeover signals, fire damper control, motion state switches, the PGA WEBvisu alarming alarm system with fault indicator management, as well as trending and metering features. The controllers are distributed across 15 information focus areas with up to nine building complex fields.

The hotel booking system OPERA is integrated via a HAWK AX BACnet interface for ORACLE-MICROS-Fidelio. Altogether, 165 BACnet controllers in 160 ISP/subdistribution boards were installed in the facility, with over 24,000 data points from various protocols, such as BACnet, M-BUS, Modbux, KNX, or DALI.

Intelligent building management saves energy and reduces expenses
The Roomers hotel in Baden-Baden now has a demand-based, ultramodern building control system which reduces energy consumption and saves operation costs with the integration of the hotel booking system. Over a web front end, the facility management receives all information across all applications. This not only allows for a quick and reliable reaction in the event of an alarm but also the universal operation across all building applications.

The rooms are equipped with an individual room control and connected with the Fidelio booking system. "Here we have a win-win situation," Rostock explains: "The guest benefits from an easy and intuitive operation of all systems inside his room and the hotel operator from an intelligent, resource-saving, and uniform communication among the building technologies."

CentraLine expands its connected building portfolio. With HAWK 8000, Honeywell’s partner brand offers a powerful controller for the Internet of Things (IoT) and a server platform for the integration of all applications (HVAC and non-HVAC) within a building.

New NX system platform
HAWK 8000 not only offers a simplified programming and installation as well as an easy operation based on the new CentraLine NX system platform, but more processor power and integrated data points as well.
The controller offers integrated building management with monitoring, data acquisition, alerting, scheduling, and comprehensive network management. Thanks to the built-in web server, Wi-Fi components, and HTML 5 standard, all of the information, including easy-to-understand visuals, can be handled via Ethernet connection, Wi-Fi, or remote access and standard browsers.
The connection of up to four pluggable communication modules adds up to five more communication buses to the already existing Ethernet and two communication interfaces.

CentraLine NX extensions
The CentraLine NX system includes extensions, which increase the efficiency of a building, improves the efficiency of its commissioning and operation and protects past investments:

• Significantly increased energy efficiency with an application library that provides tested and documented components for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling and room integration.
